Inflation battle means continued interest rate rises for the UK
Despite the risk of causing a recession, the Bank of England may need to aggressively hike as energy price inflation spills over into wider economy. Annual UK inflation based on the consumer price index measure surged to a 40-year high in April, reaching 9% compared to 7% year-on-year in March.
